Kick start your orthodontic practice with our two-day intensive starter course in Clear Aligner Treatments in Sydney, Australia. This program is designed to provide the attendee with introductory level knowledge of various aligner systems and technologies, clear aligner treatment planning, troubleshooting, best practices, and updates to recent evidence. The course aims to provide knowledge beyond industry-lead accreditation courses. It is also a good refresher program for past BOSS attendees and graduates, providing insights on recent shifts in evidence and knowledge in this area.
Best suited to  – Dentist or Dental Specialists at all levels of orthodontic experience.
Note – This program is not specific to any one aligner system. The learning outcomes can be applied for Invisalign, Spark, Angelalign, Clearcorrect, SureSmile and various other systems.

Fixed Appliance Workshop 12 CPD hour stamp

Fixed Orthodontic Appliances Hands-On Workshop, Sydney (12 CPD hr)

9th-10th May 2025

BOSS Fixed Appliances Hands-On Workshop on 9th -10th May 2025 in Sydney will allow a dentist or orthodontist  to master the skills required to treat patients with these appliances, especially as a supplement to clear aligner treatments. This 2-day workshop reduces the need to do long and expensive fixed orthodontics CPD programs to learn the basic practical skills to bond brackets, change archwires, ligate, prepare anchorage and fabricate archwire springs as an adjunct to clear aligner treatments.

Best suited to: BOSS Diploma graduates, active diploma participant or dentists with intermediate experience in clear aligner treatments.

The fixed appliance workshop will be over two days in Sydney and have practical lectures and hands-on workshop for:

  • Bracket positioning and direct bracket bonding on typodonts
  • Indirect bonding of brackets on typodonts and demo of DIBS Ai digital portal.
  • Archwire ligation techniques.
  • Anchorage preparation techniques – tip back bends, lacebacks.
  • Understanding Instrumentation and auxiliaries available for fixed appliances such as coils, springs and elastics.
  • Archwire bending (1st, 2nd and 3rd order bends), including fabricating molar uprighting springs and canine extrusion springs.
  • Designing a maxillary expander device and bending utility arches for mixed dentition

  • I started this course unsure of how much I would benefit. The in-person lectures were fantastic (although the course is now 100% online) where I made good friends and learned a lot. The online resources are extensive and second to none, accessible at your convenience. The webinars were great – usually with the right mix of teaching, cases demonstrated and the attendees’ cases being discussed. I was also invited to deliver a webinar on intra-oral scanners, 3D printers and in house aligner manufacturing (from a dentist’s point of view) – which I enjoyed.
